James Beckwith

Career Summary

James is an experienced and highly qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager.  He has over 15 years’ experience within the construction industry and has managed many high profile projects including the £70m Greenwich Design District and the £50m City of London Academy and Residential Tower in Barbican.
 
He has led and managed professional firms and has been an associate within a leading global engineering and construction management consultancy running a Team of 8 surveyors and leading the firms prestigious appointments with the likes of Deutsche Bank and Knight Dragon.
 
He undertakes all aspects of quantity surveying and project management work, and has acted for both contracting and client organisations.  He holds a Master of Law in Construction Law with Adjudication and Arbitration, has prepared expert reports and supported the preparation of expert reports for use in Arbitration, Adjudications and Litigation.
 
He has for several years taught with the University College of Estate Management, is an APC trainer, mentor and assessor and supports candidates coming through the industry with significant experience of coaching, mentoring and career development advice.  James also has experience of training construction teams on the proper use of contract, contract administration and team-working within construction teams to avoid dispute.
 
Outside of work James has an active family life camping with his two children and enjoys hill walking in the Scottish Highlands.
